This is the recipe Stacey and her grandmother are discussing. It is from the Rochester, NY, chapter of Hadassah.
- 8 ounces cooked, drained egg noodles
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar, scant
- 8 ounces crushed pineapple in juice (do not drain)
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (Big Mama's secret ingredient)
- 1 cup crushed corn flakes
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Cook and drain noodles. Melt butter in noodles. Add remaining kugel ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator and preheat oven to 350 F. Spread kugel in 9-by-13-inch pan and add topping. Bake for 40 minutes or until lightly browned.
